Baptism



To prepare for and schedule a Baptism, parents or legal guardians should contact Kevin Pothier, Director of Mission, at 716-433-8118 ext. 104.


  • Requirements: A Pre-Baptismal class is required for a couple's first child; please call the rectory to make arrangements.


  • Scheduling: Baptisms are preferred on Sundays following the 10:30 AM Mass. Other dates and times may be accommodated based on the priest's schedule.


  • Godparents: According to Canon Law (#872-874), godparents must be at least sixteen years old, fully initiated into the Catholic faith (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist), and living a life in harmony with the faith. At least one Catholic godparent is required (maximum of two). Parents may not serve as godparents for their own child.


First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion


  • First Reconciliation: Students in Grade 2 (or age 7) in both Catholic and public schools participate in our parish preparation program.
  • First Holy Communion: Students in Grade 3 participate in the preparation program.

Confirmation

Typically, 10th-grade students in Catholic and public high schools participate in the sacramental preparation program, which includes a community service requirement. Please contact the Faith Formation Office at (716) 514-9405 for details.


Marriage

Arrangements must be made with the parish priest at least six months before a wedding is scheduled.


Attendance at an approved Diocesan Pre-Cana program is required.


It is imperative to speak with Kevin Pothier, Director of Mission, at (716) 433-8118 ext. 104 before making any marriage plans.


Anointing of the Sick

To request a priest for a family member, please contact the Central Office at 716-433-8118 ext. 101.


When calling, please provide the individual's name, location, and phone number, and indicate if they also require Reconciliation and Communion.


Funeral Arrangements

To arrange a funeral, please first contact a funeral home.


 They will coordinate with the church regarding the requested date and time. Once the church has been notified, they will reach out to the family to prepare for the funeral Mass or memorial service.



If no funeral home is used please contact Kevin Pothier at 716-433-8118 ext 104 to make the arrangements and schedule a priest.
