Welcome, Our Lady of the Lake Parish!

With joyful hearts and open arms, we welcome Our Lady of the Lake Parish comprising the territories of both St. Patrick’s church in Barker, in Niagara County and the former St. Joseph’s church Lyndonville in Orleans County, into our Central Niagara Family of Parishes! Beginning May 1, 2025, we are officially united in faith, mission, and community as we continue walk together as one Body in Christ. The four individual parishes, All Saints and St
.John’s in Lockport, St. Brendan’s in Newfane, Olcott, and Wilson, and Our Lady of the Lake in Barker and Lyndonville, remain canonically, legally, and fiscally independent, but under the Road to Renewal diocesan restructuring process, they continue to share in the Central Office Staff and other shared expenses. Our Lady of the Lake brings with it a rich history of faith, ministries, and devoted parishioners who will greatly bless our shared journey. We are excited to grow together in discipleship, service, and love, and to strengthen our mission to live the Gospel in the Central and Eastern Niagara and Western Orleans, and serve one another with the heart and mind of Christ. As we begin this new chapter, may the Merciful and Eucharistic Lord, in the Holy Spirit, guide our steps and deepen our unity, so that together we may become a brighter light of hope and faith and healing in our communities, and give glory to our heavenly Father. “…so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
”— Romans 12:5 Welcome Our Lady of the Lake! Fr. Matt, Fr. Andrew, Fr. Daniel, Deacon Howard, Fr. Joe, the Central Office and Faith Formation Staffs, Family Councils and Pillars, Volunteers of the Central Niagara Catholic Family

The Deacon’s Corner: Spring can be a delight for the senses. We see trees starting to bud, flowers poking their heads out of the ground, and grass turning a deep shade of green. We hear the birds in the air and feel the warm sun on our faces. God’s words today from Revelations seem very appropriate for this time of year: “Behold, I make all things new.” As much as we can behold the newness of spring, remember that we are still basking in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection this fifth Sunday of Easter. I would dare say that love is in the air! And Jesus’ command to “Love one another”, in today’s Gospel is so very important. When we share our love with

others, we can bring the newness of spring into some one's life who needs to be made

new. Live out that beautiful commandment so that Jesus and others know you are His disciples.

  • Our Lady of the Lake

Our Lady of the Lake established a Prayer

Shawl Ministry in 2016 . We currently have

about 15 very talented ladies who have pray-

fully created some beautiful knitted and cro-

cheted shawls. To date, we have distributed

575 shawls to individuals undergoing medi-

cal treatment, comfort after a loss,birth/

    Baptism,during an illness/recovery, bereave-

    ment,depression, times of stress, Ordination,

serving in the military, and Confirmation to

name a few. In reality, shawls be they full

size or pocket size are tangible reminders of

prayers said for the recipient. Many blessings are crafted into every shawl. We begin each meeting with prayer for the possible recipients and end with prayer for all involved. Each shawl is then blessed by our Priests and then distributed to those in need.

We operated solely on donations from generous donors. Our ministry meets once a month usually on the last Thursday of the month at 1:00 in the church. Our next meeting is Thursday, May 29th at 1:oo pm, All

are welcome and encouraged to join us.
